We are excited to announce that we are hosting an adult prom benefiting PCA. With February being Heart Awareness Month, we thought it to be the perfect time to have fun and raise money for an Association that's very near and dear to my heart (literally), and what better way to do that with dancing, great music and a good time?
Join us for a fun night out and donating to an organization that means so much to me and my family!
Did you miss prom in school or want to enjoy fun night dressed up AND benefit a charity? Join our Second Chance Prom brought to you by A Mom's Heart Benefiting PCA! Just a little background on the charity of the event. Six days after I gave birth to my daughter, I was diagnosed with PPCM, heart failure caused by pregnancy. I started an awareness project to spread the word of the disease, because even the doctor who diagnosed me had never heard of it. It occurs in 1 in 300 pregnancies and often times, goes undiagnosed causing fatalities. While my awareness project, A Mom's Heart is not a registered 501c3 thus unable to accept donations, we will be collecting donations and sending them directly to PCA (Peripartum Cardiomyopathy Association). They are the leading researcher in PPCM and, as of this year, lost their government funding.
